1. What is advanced medical care?
An advanced medical care system coordinates advanced medical techniques and general health insurance treatment in response to new medical technologies and the diversified needs of medical care. When approved, costs for some procedures carried out during advanced medical care treatment (usually borne by the individual and not covered under insurance) are classified as regular medical treatment (usually covered by insurance) in order to reduce the burden to the patient.
Asahikawa Medical University Hospital is an approved advanced medical care hospital with a highly skilled medical staff and well-equipped facilities, both in terms of quality and quantity.
2. What kind of advanced medical care is available?

Rapid diagnosis for ocular infectious dieseases using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR method)
Anterior ocular disease with mutton-fat keratic precipitate or elevated intraocular pressure symptoms affecting one eye.
(limited to suspected herpetic corneal endotheliitis or herpetic iritis)
Fundus disease with retinal necrotic foci
(limited to suspected acute retinal necrosis, cytomegalovirus retinitis, or progressive outer retinal necrosis)
